THE HEART NOT ART OF PRAYER (part ii)

When our spirit soars to God it is on the wings of prayer. Prayer swings open the door into the dwelling of God Himself. Like the Bible, which is substantially a book of prayer, a church building is basically “a house of prayer” (Matthew 21:13). Only human beings can pray. We are unique in this respect. Angels worship, but we never hear of angels praying and prayer elevates us far beyond the animal level. Animals are not people and prayer is not in their nature. A dog sees its master kneeling in prayer but has no idea what is going on. People look up to God, but animals look up only to people. Atheists and uncivilized people can know God, but other creatures are at the farther side of an impassable gulf and do not even know that spiritual things exist.
Prayer is also the wonder gift of the grace of God and our highest natural capacity. No person ever born can rise higher than on their knees before God. Men of genius—Beethoven, Michelangelo and Newton produced immortal work—and all of them prayed. Prayer was their most outstanding performance, coming from their spirit not merely their brain.

Isaiah 29:14 puts it like this: “Behold, I will again do a marvelous work among this people, a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”

This standpoint is reinforced in Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NIV), where we read: “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord.” We can all move on that plateau, whether we are people of great intelligence or the simplest of mortals.

“The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel” (Isaiah 29:19).

May your prayer life change in jesus mighty name!

THE HEART NOT ART OF PRAYER

Prayer is not just a religious activity but it is a spiritual lifestyle that involves communicating with God and receiving an answer. Although many people are familiar with the topic, yet many still do not understand how to go about it. It feels like a mystery to them.

Praying is not complicated and you don’t need to be an expert in order to start. You can begin from where you are till praying becomes as easy as breathing. Here are six simple points on prayer:

1: You don’t need to use big English words in order to pray. Prayer doesn’t have to be complicated. You can still tell God what your desires are in simple English, mother tongue or even in spiritual songs that relate to your need of prayer

2: Your ability to pray is dependent on how much of God’s word you know. Many people say they cannot pray for long because they do not know how to pray. If you want to improve your prayer life then you must improve your word life. Because prayer is based on God’s word. Whenever you go before God, you go to Him with His Word. Because God responds only to His Word. If what you are asking doesn’t align with His Word, surely you will not get the answers you are looking for. Secondly, the more you study God’s word, the more you able to pray accurately and fluently.

3: Whenever you pray, pray in faith. The Scriptures tell us that without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Note that it didn’t say without prayer it is impossible to please God. Therefore, prayer void of faith doesn’t please God. You can’t come before God asking Him to do or to give you something, and not be confident that He is able to do it. Your prayer must always be founded on faith.

4: When you pray be definite about what you want. Many people just make general requests. For example, asking God you want a house is vague or too general. What kind of house do you want? Where do you want it located? What should it contain? So telling God you want a 6-bedroom house, situated at Kileleshwa is a much more specific prayer. When you are specific it is easier to know when God answers your prayer. So be specific when you pray.

5: When you pray, expect and receive your answer. Jesus said in Mark 11:24, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Jesus is saying when you pray, believe that you have received what you are asking for. It doesn’t take God years to give you an answer. Every time you appear before Him with a request, He answers. One thing to point out is this: God is a Spirit. Therefore, when you pray, His response will first happen in the spirit realm. So when you ask God for something, you have to believe you have the answer. When you hold on to what you have received, that is when over time it manifests in the natural. So believing you have received precedes the physical manifestation of your request.

6: Pray daily! The more you pray, the more you strengthen your prayer muscles. Muscles become weak over time when subjected to lack of use. Therefore, the more you pray, the more comfortable you become with it. Don’t only pray when you are in a crisis. Learn to pray to God at all times no matter the situation. Are we together on this?

These are a few points on prayer. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them in the comment section below. Please note that we share prayer points on from Thursday 2pm as we commence and we continue through Friday night Saturday day and night and eventually Sunday with holy communion prayer service!

Career Vs Calling

‘Give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord.’
1 Corinthians 15:58

A career is something you choose; a calling is something you receive. A career is something you do for yourself; a calling is something you do for God. A career promises status, money, and power; a calling generally promises difficulty, suffering, and the opportunity to be used by God. A career may end with retirement and lots of toys; a calling doesn’t end until you die. A career can be disrupted by any number of events, but God enables you to fulfill your calling even in the most difficult circumstances."And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;: 1 Timothy 1:12

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace." Acts 20:24

I’m on my lane on my race, Grace me Lord!

MAJOR BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT

Major Benefits of Praying in the Spirit

1. In this dimension of prayer, we are able to bypass satanic opposition because he  and his agents have no idea what we are praying since the Holy Spirit is the one involved in the act!

2. Our spirit-man is greatly built up when we truly pray in the Spirit
“20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy
Ghost” Jude 20

Oh, that we may learn to give way to the Holy Spirit! Then He will simply bypass our minds, the seat of reasoning and simply speak through our tongues. No wonder there is such a refreshing, peace and joy whenever we truly pray in the Spirit.

3. You can’t be worn out because the prayer is not done by might or by the  power of the flesh (exertion of the mind and will which is engaged when forming words and logic in natural prayer).

4. We also pray in the Spirit when we forgo our agendas, let go and surrender our entire will to the Holy Spirit to lead us on as to what to ask for. In this state, we are so sensitive to His promptings that we do not exceed the circumference
of the prayers He charts for us! He thus ministers to us what we need to ask for in prayer!

PASTORS KIDS NEED MORE GRACE

Pastors sometimes preach on the 'God of provision' but after the service go back home and lack certain things (I have lived with one, and I am one so I know).
It takes the grace of God to be a pastor's child and still love the Lord unconditionally and have the right heart and perspective on pastoral ministry and church. It's easier to talk about how pastor's children are the most pervated especially when you have never been one. But if you looked further you'll realise most of them felt left out when the pastor was spending time attending to your heart and needs, you who is now a critic. So when you see pastor's children genuinely loving God and stand firm in salvation, take that as proof of a heart that has been changed by God himself, because yes, we have so many reasons to turn away and discredit everything, but the grace and love of God overwhelms them all. You tell the story better when you're part of it!

SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS WILL CAUSE YOU TO MISS HEAVEN

Some of your friends will cause you to miss God in this season you have to be BOLD enough to tell "them" to keep their NEGATIVE AND UNSOLICITED opinions of others to themselves. Gossipers are on the spree both in the church and in the world. I write to you beloved, Don't allow messy people to contaminate your heart, mind and Spirit against others.

The enemy knows;

That person could be the very one that God has placed in position to be a blessing to you. (God will NOT always reveal to you who He will use to help you! ) In this season, it is vitally important that you GUARD your ear gate, your mind and your heart!

TESTIMONY & PROPHETIC ALERT FULFILMENT

TESTIMONY UPDATE AND PROPHETIC ALERT FULFILLMENT ON KENYAN LEADERSHIP.

I rarely do screenshots and post but this I had to. A week ago, during our 72 hours of nonstop day and night prayers which actually turned 96 hours of prayers. On Friday as we prayed the Lord opened my eyes deep in the spirit as we were wailing for our nation and showed me colors blue, white and black. I told the church by Gods grace that it will happen in less than 24 days as the Lord has revealed and told me. Today I see this and the confirmations and I can only say to God be the glory!

Faf Kenya interecessors and all prayer warriors out there. As we labor on our knees, there’s a God in Heaven who shall definitely answer!

“ President Kenyatta escalates handshake of unity as DP Ruto and former VP join in

NAIROBI, 31 May 2018 (PSCU) – President Uhuru Kenyatta today escalated the “handshake” between him and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga by asking Deputy President William Ruto and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka to join in and embrace unity.

Speaking in Nairobi during this year’s National Prayer Breakfast, President Kenyatta led the leaders by extending a hand of reconciliation and forgiveness to Mr Odinga who reciprocated the gesture.

“We have campaigned against one another. We have said nasty things about one another. We have hurt one another. On my behalf, I ask for your forgiveness and tender my apology,” President Kenyatta said as he hugged Mr Odinga.

The Head of State noted that while Kenya has had many shortcomings, it has also had great successes and leaders need to bring the country together to multiply those successes 10 folds.
The President, who was accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, emphasised that forgiveness should be viewed as a sign of great strength not weakness.

President Kenyatta said since Kenya is a democracy, people will never always agree on everything and will from time to time have differences in terms of political opinion. He further urged that the differences should never lead to bloodshed and destruction of property.

On the issues that Kenyans agree, the President implored leaders to work together to ensure the national goals are achieved.

“The challenges facing this country are huge: we still have to ensure we give our people adequate healthcare, adequate housing – surely we can’t disagree on that,” the President pointed out.

He added: “We need to be able to ensure that our people have access to electricity and decent jobs – surely, we can agree on that and pull together in order to ensure we make the lives of our people better.”

On the fight against corruption, President Kenyatta said leaders have to unite against the vice, saying people should not use tribe, ethnicity or religion to hide behind their negative acts.

“A thief is a thief. He is not a Luo, he is not a Kikuyu, he is not a Kalenjin – he has a name,” President Kenyatta said.

Speaking on uniting the country, President Kenyatta observed that he started the journey with Deputy President William Ruto with the idea of bringing people together to end violence and bloodshed.

“This is a journey that I am hoping will be strengthened by working closely with my brother Raila Odinga and all leaders in the country,” President Kenyatta said.

On his part, Deputy President William Ruto said the act of reconciliation spearheaded by the President will ensure the country prospers adding that the power of forgiveness is what brings nations together. Additionally he said we must resist hate, refuse disunity and say no to negative ethnicity.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga who tendered his apology on behalf of NASA coalition said never again shall Kenyans be led to fight against each other because of election.

“ I want to thank my brother Uhuru Kenyatta on what he has just done and I wanted to mention that when we decided to shake hands we had a very long discussion, we went down the memory lane where it started. Where did the rains began to beat us as Kenyans,” said the opposition leader.

He said the views collected from Kenyans by the handshake committee will be implemented to the latter to ensure the country is unified and that the recurring cycle of violence during elections would never happen again.

Assuring President Kenyatta of his support against graft, Mr. Odinga said the prayer breakfast gives all Kenyans opportunity to reflect on their past mistakes and successes in order to improve and focus on a better future.

Speaking at the event, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka also assured the President of his efforts to develop the country and in the fight against graft.

Chief Justice David Maraga said the judiciary firmly supports President Kenyatta’s efforts to wipe corruption.

“ We must remain together and do what we must do at this moment for our posterity. What is important is that we remain together and live by the rule of law, live by the constitution and move on, “ said the Chief Justice.

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, who also attended the breakfast, assured President Kenyatta that his country supports his endevours to bring  regional peace and stability.
He said true Islam champions peace and harmony amongst all people irrespective of their religious background and that Al-shabaab is a group of criminals whose intention is to create disharmony between Muslims and Christians in the country. He noted that those perpetrating terror are criminals killing innocent human beings in the name of Islam, and giving Islam a bad name.

He called on Kenyans to be wary of the agenda of the group and avoid falling in their trap to cause disharmony.

The guest speaker during the annual event was Lord, Dr. Michael Hastings from the United Kingdom.

Also present were delegations of leaders from United State of America, Europe and Africa with the Ugandan National Assembly Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and East Africa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ngoga Martin leading their respective delegations.

JUST PREPARE THE MEAL...ITS ALL I NEED...

“So he [Elijah]went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, ‘Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?’  As she was going to get it, he called, ‘And bring me, please, a piece of bread.’  ‘As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.’ Elijah said to her, ‘Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: “The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’” - 1 Kings 17:10-14

This is a story of obedience, faith, and provision, but there’s a backstory that you need to know. Because of his courage in telling the truth, Elijah had become a very unpopular man in Israel. So, God sent him away into the wilderness for a time of rest and testing. He took him to a place by a brook where God met his physical needs. Birds brought Elijah food every day, and the brook provided him water.

After a while, however, the brook dried up because there was no rain. As you can imagine, Elijah was a little surprised and probably thought, “Okay, God, what do I do now? I have to have water to survive!” (Now, remember, God doesn’t always meet our needs for tomorrow, today. He always meets our needs for tomorrow, tomorrow. So, God told Elijah to go to a specific place where he would find food and water.

He went to a gate and found a woman gathering sticks and asked if she would get him a drink of water. She immediately went to get him the water when he added, “While you’re at it, please bring me a piece of bread…” In light of this poor woman’s situation, she could have thought, “The audacity of this guy!” But she told him she was in the process of preparing what was to be the very last meal for her and her son, and then there would be nothing left, and they would die. She lived in poverty. She was a single mom. Single parenting is not a new thing. Women have been raising families alone and in poverty for centuries. But she trusted God and gave all that she had to the man of God—and God blessed her by multiplying the food in her cupboard so that she and her son would never be without because of it. In the process, He continued to bless Elijah by meeting his physical and material needs to be able to survive.

This biblical story teaches us how much God cares for us. God cared for the prophet. He cared for this poor single mom. He cares for all of us. Our role is to put our trust in Him and be willing to put our faith into action…to just go and “bake our bread,” so to speak, do the best we can today, and leave the rest to Him. Elijah trusted God and was fed. The poor single mom trusted God through Elijah, and her needs were met.  The greater the need – the greater the blessing. Trust Him to meet your needs, and He will.

MUST WATCH! POWERFUL SERMON : LET IT RAIN - PST STEVE OMODECX ADEK

CHRISTIANITY WITHOUT REPENTANCE ISNT CHRISTIANITY.

GOD IS USING ME, SO HE MUST BE HAPPY WITH ME....?? No way!

Wrong!! The fact that God is using you, says nothing about Him being pleased with your life.  You see, the Bible says, Gifts and Callings are without repentance,(Romans 11:29) in other words, God does not revoke your gift, He gives you a gift and that’s it.  He will never revoke that gift, under no circumstance. More reason why God will deny many who came in His name.

So many men and women of God that have a gift of preaching and prophecy etc have come to a place where they believe that Just because God is using their gifts, God is happy with them and hence many have stopped really  walking introspect, trusting God for every step they take.
Sadly some no longer really have a burden for the lost souls, but wallets, cars and material possessions have become the main focus. Many have stopped caring in their hearts and have gone on to defraud people their monies, manipulated the people’s minds into giving even their last pennies in the name of "God demands you sow a seed"..,Many have lived unclean immoral lives in their private spaces and yet assume, just because when they pick up the Microphone, anointing comes, the “spirit moves”, the sick get delievered etc, You think that God is pleased with us if we live so? Well.....

God will continue to use the gift, and you could be far from God as Egypt is from India.  You can see mighty things done in your ministries, and deceive yourselves that God is pleased with you. But Remember
Matthew 7:22,  “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?”

Who are these "many" people that say Lord we have prophecied(preached) in your name, we were having deliverance services, and we did wonders in your name?  These are people we call Men and Women of God.  The Lord Jesus says, Many. Many of these will come to him.  How much is many?? MANY means MANY!!.  So, if you have seen mighty things in your ministry, let that not be a yardstick that you use that God is pleased with you.  Let us search our hearts daily, our motives, our private lives.. when no one is looking, our thoughts.., there will no be any short cut to heaven for us, just  because we have a “Gift”, or we started a ministry, raised the dead, healed the blind.  I can raise the dead every day of my life and still go to hell!!  Gifts and callings are without repentance.  Let not our gifts blind us to the truth and the seriousness of this Gospel.

Repentance in totality is what made God call David a man after His heart ♥!
